The Nuseerabad HG 3 handstamp
Nuseerabad, a town and cantonment in Ajmere-Merwara, Rajputana, is situated 26°18' N and 74°43' E, on a bleak plain, sloping eastwards from the Aravalli Hills. The Military Station was laid out by Sir David Octolony, and is over a mile long, and has upon its outskirts the native town. Two Bengal Infantry regiments and a native battery mutinied here on 28th May, 1857, but the Bombay cavalry regiment protected the British residents and remained loyal throughout.
