Najibabad (the Nujeeb'ld of early records) is a town in Bijnor district, Uttar Pradesh, founded by the Rohilla chief Najib-ud-Daula and guarded by the nearby Patthargarh fort, on the routes toward the Himalayan foothills. It was a trade town of the upper Ganges tract. Within the North-Western Provinces it served as a post town, and its pre-1854 markings trace the mail of the Bijnor country.
