The Neemuch HG 1 handstamp
Neemuch, a town and British cantonment in the Mandasor District of Gwalior State, situated 24°28' N and 74°54' E. In 1817 land was taken up to form a standing camp for the British troops engaged in the supression of the Pindaris, and in 1822 it became the headquarters of the combined Rajpootana-Malwa Political Charge under Sir David Ochterlony, who was Resident until 1825. It was the scene of serious disorder in the 1857 uprising.
