Description

1836 (Dec): Entire letter from Camp Dreg at Muttra to Ireland, struck on reverse with scarce framed "MUTTRA / P.P. PD" in black with postage noted at 14 annas, transit of fine framed "Calcutta / GPO / Ship Letter" (Dec 17) in black, red Dublin datestamp (May 5) and Parsonstown arrival cds of the following day. Obverse with fair "INDIA LETTER / LIVERPOOL" in black and manuscript charge of 1 shilling. A fine entire with full transcript describing visits to Fatihpur-sikri and Agra.
