1838 Mirzapore/Mirzapur–Saugor/Sagar Bearing letter, written on Oct 28,1838 but posted on Nov 1,1838 indicated by Giles 6 tripartite rectangular Bearing mark of Mirzapore/Mirzapur with due 7As for single letter weighing upto 11.66gm (1 tola) covering distance 478km (298 mile) following Schedule A annexed w.r.t. Article VI of Indian Post Office Act (XVII of 1837) dt. Jul 24,1837, enacted on Oct 1,1837. The 7A due was also indicated by the merchant’s notation at top left corner followed by जनरल साहब (General Sahab) referring to the addressee Thomas Anbury (1759–1840), Maj. Gen., presumably by the postal clerk at Sagar delivery office.
