Kherwara (the Khairwarrah of early records) is a town in Udaipur district, southern Rajasthan, that under the British was a cantonment and headquarters of the Mewar Bhil Corps in the hilly Bhil country of the Aravallis. It was a garrison station of the southern Rajputana hills. In the era of the Company's Rajputana posts it served as a mail town, and its pre-1854 markings record the posts of the Bhil country.
