There is a date of despatch, 5th January 1842 and a postage paid of Rs. 1-0-0. This is the full postage. The letter passed through Bombay and the stamp in red (HG SD9) in use from 1844-57 for overland post, was applied. The London PAID 27 MR 1848 was fixed and the letter delivered in Forres on the 1st March 1848. 2 months.
