Hamirpur (the Harnirpore of early records) is a town in Uttar Pradesh at the confluence of the Yamuna and Betwa rivers, headquarters of Hamirpur district in the Bundelkhand borderland. It was a river-trade and administrative town of the southern doab. Within the North-Western Provinces it served as a district post town, and its pre-1854 markings record the mail of the Bundelkhand country.
