Ghazeepore, situated 25°35' N and 83°36' E on the left bank of the Ganges River, in the United Provinces, 421 miles from Calcutta. Lord Cornwallis died here in 1805. Important trade centre, including opium, as the tract north of the Ganges, until the river was transversed by the railway.
