Fazilka (the Fezilka of early records) is a city in the far south-west of Punjab, India, near the Sutlej and the present Pakistan border, founded by the British in the 1840s as a market and administrative town of the Bhattiana tract. It became a cotton-trade centre of the frontier plain. Its pre stamp postal markings belong to the early mail of the south-western Punjab borderland.
