MAIL TO G.B. - RARE FREE "INDIA LETTER/DEAL" EX CALCUTTA, 2-RING BENARES/POST PAID, ETC.; 1824-47 covers inc. 1824 front+flap with early faint 2-ring "BENARES/POST PAID" [ex H. Giles], 1834 E with scarce red boxed "INDIA LETTER/DEAL" (oval Madras ds), large part long Dec. 1838 E from Calcutta (fine red boxed Ship Letter ds on flap) to "India Board, London" and so free of postage having a fine boxed "INDIA LETTER/DEAL" on the front endorsed "Per Ship Esperance" (free India Letters are rare), 1842/7 trio via Falmouth/Southampton with boxed "Paid" ds of Madras/"BUDAON" [latter ex H. Giles] or Calcutta SL d.s., and front+flap with fine scarce red "MADRAS/SHIP LETTER/FREE" ds [ex H. Giles]. Plus 1833/43 pair of letters ex Lucknow (no envs.).
