Description

India, Boolundersher, 1837, "BOOLUNDERSHER/Pt Pd/18__" Circular Handstamp (Giles 1). Faint but mostly clear strike on back of Jun. 18, 1837 folded letter to Calcutta, red "AM" handstamp, Calcutta (Jun. 28) arrival datestamp, cover with heavy degree of climactic toning causing severe splitting along folds (some of the cover has disintegrated) and in pieces, accompanied by transcription of letter, Fine strike, this is the only recorded example of this postal marking from Boolundersher, ex Giles
