BAREILY DATESTAMP & BLACK INDIA OVAL; 3 May 1838 EL (crosswritten) 'by First Steamer/via Bombay' and 'Post Paid to Bombay' to England with framed "BAREILY/[DATE]/Paid" d.s. on rear in purple - only known in 1838 with oval "INDIA" h.s. in black on front also only known for nine months, prior to being used in red. Scarce combination of marks. Fine. Cross Reference: INCOMING OVERSEAS MAIL
