India, Allahabad, 1830, "ALLAHABAD/Pt Pd/18__" Circular Handstamp (Giles 1). Blurry but legible strike in red with manuscript "1 R 3½ As" rate and "20th July (18) 30" date added on back of folded letter to Calcutta, red framed "AM" handstamp, red Calcutta (Jul. 27) arrival backstamp, cover with overall toning, accompanied by transcription of letter, still Fine, an early and scarce strike from Allahabad
