Description

INDIA, Ajmere, 1843, "AJMERE/FREE" Handstamp (Unrecorded in Giles). Complete red oval handstamp with manuscript "15 Sept. 43" date added on back of folded cover to Lieutenant in Nuseerabad, manuscript "P Service" and countersigned, red "NUSEERABAD/184 September 16/FREE" three-line oval arrival datestamp (unrecorded in Giles), slight cover fold affecting Ajmere strike and slight soiling, otherwise Very Fine strikes, a rare combination of markings, both are not recorded by Giles
