India, Paulghautcherry, 1832, "PALGHAUTCHERRY/POSTPAID" Oval Handstamp (Giles 2 -- Unrecorded). Mostly legible strike in red with manuscript "24th March 1832" date and "11 as" rate added on back of folded letter to Madras, manuscript notation on back indicating for this cover to be held until the Bark Eliza arrived from Cochin, Madras (Mar. 28, Giles MX4) arrival backstamp, cover with overall toning and some internal splitting, otherwise Fine, this is the only recorded example of this postal marking which was unrecorded by Giles though updated on the digitized listing of the Giles catalogue (www.handstruckstampsindia.com)
