India, Negapatam, 1850, "NEGAPATAM/1850 November 18/Paid" Framed Datestamp (Giles 4). Clear red strike (date slug inverted) on back of folded letter to Mauritius, sender's directive "Per Ramalis via Madras" , framed "AM" and "ship letter" handstamps, red framed Madras "G.P.O." (Nov. 21) and "Out Station Ship Letter" (Nov. 21, Giles SD11) transit and Mauritius Crowned (Dec. 14) arrival datestamps, slight ink erosion and small opening tear just affecting despatch datestamp, otherwise Very Fine
