The Nagore HG 1 handstamp
Nagore was a village in the Tanjore District, north of Negapatam, but now within the municipal limits of the latter town. It is situated on the East Coast of the Madras Presidency, approximately 10 40'N and 79°51E. It was a stronghold of the Marakkayan traders, a mixed class of Mohammadans.
