Description

KURNOOL/FREE. 1840 : H.G. 3 : The letter posted from KURNOOL to MADRAS on 14th July. Being used by Government official, postage for this Half Tola letter was free. A red oval shaped KURNOOL/FREE was in use during 1840-1850. The usual Madras G.P.O./Date stamp and black framed AM were also added on arrival in Madras, for morning delivery.
