TO G.B. - ½a PAIR ON COVER EX "KURNOOL" VIA "MADRAS & SOUTHAMPTON" CHARGED "1/-" ON DELIVERY; 7 Feb. 1855 env. (slight wrinkles and some edge wear) from Kurnaul to Scotland "[Via] Southampton - Paid to Madras" with ½a Blue Pair (good 4m but touched at bottom left) tied by fine dotted diamonds with fine red boxed "KURNOOL/Paid" ms-dated mark (H. Giles Type 2; only recorded 1840-52 previously) on flap (closed tear) and having a London hs "1/-" (packet Rate) charge-mark on the front. Scarce thus.
