Description

1850 Baltimore, USA–Guntoor/Gunturu unpaid letter written on Mar 15,1850, privately carried upto Madras/Chennai and posted at the Triplicane/Tiruvallikkeni RH, Madras/Chennai indicated by the Giles MX9 (ex-MX14) Rg. House No.3 oblong mark of Triplicane/Tiruvallikkeni Receiving House, Madras/Chennai with Giles 20 tripartite rectangular Bearing mark dt. 1850 May 30 of Madras/Chennai GPO, indicating 2A due and Giles 4 rectangular Bearing receiving mark dt. 20 June 1850 of Guntoor/Gunturu. The letter was sent to American missionary George Jacob Martz (1822–1898) of Lutheran Mission, stationed in Guntoor/Gunturu.
