Kushalnagar, long known as Fraserpet, is a town in Kodagu (Coorg) district, Karnataka, on the banks of the Kaveri at the gateway to the Coorg hills. Named for a British officer, it grew as a route town linking the Mysore plateau to the coffee country of Coorg. Under Company administration it served as a post town, and its pre-1854 markings trace the mail into the western Karnataka highlands.
