Description

Clear though slightly blurry strike with manuscript "14 April 1844" date and "1 Anna 1/4 f" rate on back of folded letter to Kulludglee, sender's directive "via Beejapoor". Very Fine. This marking predates the Free marking listed in Giles (1853) and is presumably very scarce.
