Letter endorsed P.N.P (Postage Not Paid) at upper right corner as also said by the Post Office marking on the reverse. Cuddalore (location of the British Fort St. David) is located about 10 miles south of Pondicherry and about 60 miles north of Tranquebar. The calculations on the front access the charges to be 3 anna to be paid by the recipient as written on the reverse together with the date of 17 of April 1834
