COCHIN/PAID. 1849 : H.G.2 : Cover posted from PALAMCOTTA [28 Jan] to COCHIN [1 Feb.] Postage prepaid at PALAMCOTTA 4 as. COCHIN was a Dutch colony till 1795, when it was captured by Major Petrie. Dutch were allowed to retain their laws and administration. It was finally ceded to the Company under the Paris Treaty.
