Description

India, Cocanada, 1848, "COCANADA/Bearing" Framed Handstamp (Giles 2, 1993 Supplement). Clearly struck with manuscript "26 July 48" date and "2 as" rate added on back of printed folded letter to Mauritius, Mauritius arrival backstamp, cover with couple slightly heavy file folds, still Very Fine, without any transit markings, it is presumed this cover was carried privately from Madras to Mauritius, considering this is the only year date listed in Giles 1993 supplement, we doubt many examples exist (if any others)
