G.B. - AURUNGABAD COVER "PAID IN FULL VIA SOUTHAMPTON" WITH TWO 4as + TWO ½a BLUES; Fine 27 July 1855 env. from Aurungabad (mainly fine red boxed "AURUNGABAD/ Paid" ds on back) to Barnet endorsed "Paid in full. Via Southampton" franked for the internal Indian 1a rate (up to ½ tola) with close-cut ½a Blues (2; small margins in places) & two cut-to-shape 4as all tied by mainly fine Aurungabad dotted diamond cancels with fair red boxed "INDIA PAID" alongside overstruck by London red "PAID" transit cds (6 Sept.) with red ms "1/-" rate. Rare franking for this rate. Exhibition Item.
