The Anuntapoor HG 2 handstamp
Headquarters of Anuntapoor District, Madras Presidency, situated 14°41' N and 77°37' E, 56 miles from Bellary and 216 from Madras. Ceded to the British, after the 1st Mysore War, in 1800, when Major (afterwards Sir Thomas) Munro became the first Collector.
