(x) Straits Settlements Early Letters and Handstamps Singapore 1845 (29 Nov.) entire letter from Batavia via Singapore and Amsterdam, showing red crayon "10" with, on reverse, Behr Meyer & Co. fac, good framed "singapore / Paid" d.s. (5.12) and, on face, "indes or./marseille" double-ring d.s. (16.1) and three strikes (another on reverse) of Amsterdam transit c.d.s. (24.1), all in red, and Dutch manuscript forwarding endorsement Subject to 5% tax on Hammer Price in addition to 20% VAT on Buyer’s Premium.
