1858 Madras to Rangoon entire letter, sent “per Steamer Bengal via Calcutta”, franked with East India QV 4a (SG 45) with irregular perf. at top, tied by obliterator diamond of dots, matching with Madras origin 11 Oct on back, on front are curved “INDIA PAID” cachet and boxed Rangoon Ship Letter with date, transit Calcutta 17 Oct; a scarce 4a single use and with good Rangoon ship letter cancellation.
