Description

Burma Ship Letters Rangoon 1853 (10 Sep.) entire from Shwegeen addressed to Scotland via Calcutta, marked "From No 1362 Johnston 1st European Bengal Fusiliers" and showing, on reverse, the rare "rangoon/ship letter/free" double-ring h.s. (Type SL10) in black and framed Calcutta Ship Letter d.s. in red, a few expected faults including stains and creasing, nevertheless a highly important postal item being the earliest recorded date of this rare maritime handstamp.
