Description

INDIA, 1854, 2a Green (5; SG 31). Horizontal pair, large balanced margins, tied by two crisp strikes of barred "121" cancel (Cooper Ty. 4) on blue cover to Cowfold, England, sender's directive "via Southampton", red framed Warree Paid handstamp (Giles unrecorded) with manuscript "28 6 58" (Jun. 28, 1858) date added on back, red framed "INDIA PAID" handstamp on back, Bombay and London (Aug. 13) transit and Horsham (Aug. 13) arrival datestamps, cover with some minor edgewear VERY FINE AND HANDSOME USE OF A 2-ANNAS TYPOGRAPH PAIR ON COVER TO ENGLAND.
