India, Poona, 1823, "Poonah/POST PAID/3 AP 3/1823" Oval Datestamp (Giles 4). Bold though slightly blurry strike on back of large part of folded outer lettersheet (missing side flaps) to Passage West, Ireland, forwarded to Castletown, sender's directive "Poona Paid to Bombay" , framed "INDIA LETTER/DEAL" handstamp (Robertson In. 1), London (Aug. 29) transit and blue "PASSAGE WEST/125" handstamp, various manuscript rate markings, cover with some minor edgewear and tears, still Very Fine strike of this scarce Poona datestamp
