Clear strike in red with manuscript "9 May 1844" date and "4 A" rate added on back of cover to Corfu, Ionian Islands, sender's directive "via Suez & Alexandria" , red framed "INDIA PAID" and "Forwarded by R. Duckworth & Co. Malta" forwarder's handstamps, manuscript "5" and red "11" rate markings, Very Fine, an exceptional destination for any 19th century cover from India, particularly so with an unrecorded postal marking from a small town such as Malwan
