Description

Bombay, 1 August 1859 to Constantino Lobo Andre Cunha, Governor of Damão. An horizontal pair of half Anna stamps postmarked with number 1 in a lozengue grid (Bombay). On arrival, a pale red rectangular postmark of DAMAUN/3-8-59/Paid was applied. On reverse a red circular cancellation BOMBAY/1 AU 59/PAID. Rare example of DAMAUN cancellation applied on arrival.
