Five covers, each with the "AFFGHANISTAN/PAID" handstamp on back, ranging from strong to weak strikes, all 1841 and addressed to London, one forwarded, with sender's directive "By Steamer via Falmouth" , each datelined in Kabul and dated Jun. 16 (two), Jul. 31, Aug. 29, and Sept. 23, some slight wear including one cover with toned spots, each letter transcribed FINE-VERY FINE CORRESPONDENCE FROM CAPTAIN RAWDON MILES -- EACH WITH THE RARE "AFFGHANISTAN/PAID" HANDSTAMP. The accompanying letters shed light on the city of Kabul during this period of time.
