India, Belgaum, 1836, "BELGAUM/POST PAID" Framed Handstamp (Giles 1). Excellent strike in red applied in transit on back of 1836 folded cover from Goa to Bombay, sender's directive "via Belgaum" , manuscript "4 de Agt 1836" despatch and rate markings, faint "GOA" and "PAGOV PORTE DO CORo" handstamps, cover with overall toning, Fine and scarce combination of strikes on cover from Goa, this Belgaum marking is unrecorded in red (though we have encountered other examples)
