Description

A local cover from "TIRHOOT", formerly a District of Bengal, (393) miles from Calcutta. The despatch stamp is HG Type 1, in use from 1829–36. The date is 13th June with a charge of Rs. 1 for double weight. The circular Calcutta handstamp "G.P.O.-Date" (HG G13, in use from 1834–37) is dated Jun 19, 1836.
