Description

Moorshedabad: 1805 (25 Oct.) entire letter from "Obia, via Berhampore" to Calcutta, the address panel showing good to fine strike of the double-line framed "MOORSHEDABAD/POST PAID" (HG 2) completed in manuscript; light overall tone spotting and fold crosses strike, otherwise fine. Only one example recorded. Interesting content referring to the poor air quality: "the noxious vapour of this place, which proved mortal to many of my kin in my absence".
