Mahomedpore is a village in Jessore District, Bengal, situated 23°24' N and 89°37' E, on the right bank of the Madhumati River. Once a large town with a quadrangular fort, but is very unhealthy and an epidemic known as "Burdwan fever" was first noticed in 1840.
