1806 : H.G. 1: This entire letter was written in PUTTAHAUT, but was posted in LUCKEEPOOR, 12 miles away to CALCUTTA Inland postage, under the 1802-09 rates, for a Single" letter to CALCUTTA was 5 as. LUCKEEPOOR, 270 miles from CALCUTTA in EASTERN BENGAL, and a Post Office which was established as early as 1795, and became subordinate to the Main Post Office at BULLOOAH, 23 miles away, in the Dist. ofNOAKALI. In the 20th Century it was renamed as LAKSMIPUR.
