Description

1851 Jessore – Calcutta inland entire, with unrecorded "JESSORE/Paid" despatch handstamp, date "24 May" & rate "6" (6A single letter Jessore–Calcutta inland postage, as under ¼ tolah wt.) paid by the sender, which was indicated by "৬" (Bengali numeral for 6) in manuscript as well. Upon reaching Calcutta, Giles G16 "G.P.O./1851 MY 27" receipt & large-sized boxed "AM" time mark applied.
