Description
The most important thing of this handstamp is that its a BILINGUAL one. This quite a clear handstamp shows GYAH POST in first line. The second line bears URDU wordings and reading right to left "ROUTE BHAGALPORE" [→ 2 »4]. The third line shows Pt. PAID in English and the fourth line again URDU reads GYAH POST I w wd ]. The entire post mark have white out line and also bears a thick extra line above the first line. This type of handstamp, showing the route to be taken, has not been seen for any other city so far. The other seal in URDU/PERSIAN reads BRITISH TAPAH and Hisary year 1247 i.e. 1831 A. D.
