1839 London, England–Saugor/Sagar letter, sent from Fitzroy garden, London and routed via Calcutta/Kolkata, with 2 Giles G14 (ex-CG21)/Lowe HS431 bipartite oblong receipt mark in red of Calcutta/Kolkata GPO, Giles SR42a (ex-CS15)/Lowe HS147 (var.) recept mark of Calcutta/Kolkata GPO, showing Ship Postage 3 and Inland Postage 3 i.e. Total 6A postage for incoming mail from England, weighing upto 11.66gm (1 tola) but 12A double rate postage indicated by Giles 21 (var.) tripartite rectangular Paid dispatch mark dt. 1839 September 13 in red of Calcutta/Kolkata GPO, was paid in Calcutta/Kolkata by the forwarding agent Colvin, Ainslie, Cowie & Co., Calcutta/Kolkata which impressed its own forwarding agent’s stamp.
