Beautifully written 4 page letter from the Siddons correspondence with family news and some political news, viz. the demise of Lord Ellenbrough; investiture of Sir Thomas Hislop, CIC Madras, with the insignia of the Grand Cross of the Bath; the writer's successor at Bencoolen, Sir Stamford Raffles '... is making vast efforts to create a name for himself to the Eastward.
