Postal cover from calcutta (bengal), bearing HG 24A handstamp in Red. Dated 18 March 1838. Note: Similar to 24 but smaller gap between CALCUTTA and ‘Paid’. As per Giles this was used in Branch Offices and since there were multiple branch offices, different stamps must have been issued. (c. 36x28mm).. Scarce example of postal history from this office.
