Description

Berhampore: 1790 (21 Nov.) entire letter (slight age or disinfection staining) to Leith, Scotland per "St. The Princes Emilii" (sic) showing "BERHAMPORE/POST PAID" (HG 1) fine practically complete strike. Only one example recorded by Hammond Giles, and undoubtedly one of the great rarities of Indian prestamp philately.
