Faint but legible strike with manuscript "8 July 1831" despatch date on back of folded cover (missing inner panel) to London, England, forwarded to Westerham, faint framed "INDIA LETTER/HASTINGS" handstamp (Robertson In. 1), Calcutta (Jul. 15) and two London (Dec. 27) backstamps, manuscript "1/1" rate marking rerated to "1/-" , cover with some soiling and edgewear, otherwise Fine, noted as "scarce" by Giles
